Using a sample of 122 million Upsilon(3S) events recorded with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at SLAC, we search for the $h_b(1P)$ spin-singlet partner of the P-wave chi_{bJ}(1P) states in the sequential decay Upsilon(3S) --> pi0 h_b(1P), h_b(1P) --> gamma eta_b(1S).

This quantity is indicative of the collimation of an event topology, with values close to one for jetlike events; the kinematics of a heavy object such as the η b \eta_{b} decaying hadronically result in a more spherical event

In MC simulations, fits to the individual m ( γ γ ) m(\gamma\gamma) spectra that make use of a polynomial background function and various combinations of Crystal Ball ref:CB and/or Gaussian signal functions proved unsatisfactory at the high statistical precision necessary
