The CDF coordinate system is right handed, with z-axis tangent to the Tevatron ring and pointing in the direction of the proton beam. The x and y coordinates are defined pointing outward and upward from the Tevatron ring, respectively. The azimuthal angle ϕ \phi is measured relative to the x axis in the transverse plane. The mean of our Lxy or lepton p T p_{T} distributions can be expressed as < s > f s + < b > f b <s>f_{s}+<b>f_{b} where < s > <s> and < b > <b> denote the means of the signal and background distributions, and f s f_{s} and f b f_{b} represent the fractions of events that come from these distributions. Since < b > <b> does not depend on the top quark mass while < s > <s> depends roughly linearly on the top-quark mass, the statistical resolution of the measurement will depend linearly on f s f_{s}
