The χ c 1 → J / ψ γ \chi_{c1}\to J/\psi\gamma decay is governed by two helicity amplitudes, H 1 , 1 χ c 1 H^{\chi_{c1}}_{1,1} and H 0 , 1 χ c 1 H^{\chi_{c1}}_{0,1} , where the first and second subscripts correspond to the helicity of the J / ψ J/\psi and γ \gamma , respectively. Both experimental results and theoretical calculations indicate that the quadrupole contribution to the χ c 1 → J / ψ γ \chi_{c1}\to J/\psi\gamma transition is small, and therefore | H 1 , 1 χ c 1 | ≃ | H 0 , 1 χ c 1 | |H^{\chi_{c1}}_{1,1}|\simeq|H^{\chi_{c1}}_{0,1}| .
