We here used the atmospheric background flux from charm particles predicted by prompt rather than the larger flux conservatively implemented in the sensitivity calculation presented in the IceCube publication iceperf . The enhancement in the charm flux relative to the one used here is a direct consequence of the assumption that charm fragmentation functions scale and is therefore unphysical
