Errors in the variational energy of the Laughlin state are due to the fact that we compute it by applying the DMRG algorithm to the V 1 V_{1} -only Hamiltonian rather than by expanding its analytic form and transforming it into the truncated basis for the exact ground state. This also tends to systematically overestimate the overlaps shown in Table 1
