We use a cylindrical coordinate system where θ \theta is the polar angle to the proton beam direction at the event vertex, ϕ \phi is the azimuthal angle about the beam axis, and pseudorapidity is defined η = − ln tan ( θ / 2 ) \eta=-\ln\tan(\theta/2) . We define transverse energy as E T = E sin θ \mbox{$E_{T}$}=E\sin\theta and transverse momentum as p T = p sin θ p_{T}=p\sin\theta where E E is the energy measured in the calorimeter and p p is the magnitude of the momentum measured by the spectrometer
