We perform a new Monte Carlo QCD analysis of pion parton distribution functions, including, for the first time, transverse momentum dependent pion-nucleus Drell-Yan cross sections together with $p_{\rm T}$-integrated Drell-Yan and leading neutron electroproduction data from HERA.
