Based on the new version of the gedanken experiment proposed by Sorce and Wald, we investigate the weak cosmic censorship conjecture (WCCC) for a Reissner-Nordstr\"{o}m-Anti-de Sitter (RN-AdS) black hole under the perturbation of extra matter fields.
