Recent studies of scalar and gravitational waveforms from high-eccentricity, extreme mass-ratio black hole binaries show the presence of quasi-normal bursts (QNB) -- lingering high frequency decaying oscillations (also known as ``wiggles'') -- soon after each periapsis passage.
