We use population inference to explore the impact that uncertainties in the distribution of binary black holes (BBH) have on the astrophysical gravitational-wave background (AGWB).

Note that since the AGWB is composed of finitely many sources that are localised in time, it will necessarily be anisotropic if observed for a finite amount of time, due to random fluctuations in the signal. This form of anisotropy has been investigated in Ref. Meacher et al. 2014 . However, the anisotropies that we study are due to inhomogeneities in the source distribution and the geometry of spacetime, meaning that they will not average to zero when integrating over long observation times. It is this form of anisotropy that can give us insights into LSS
