Bounds for current rate functions for time-periodic Markovian systems are obtained in the very recent Ref. Barato et al. 2018 . While the procedure there is general, the explicit bounds on current uncertainty are given only for time-independent contractions of elementary currents, and, thus, exclude basis currents of extracted work or heat. In this sense, our results are complementary to those in Barato et al. 2018 , and, moreover, provide the only known TUR to, for example, heat engines without time reversal Risken 1996 ; Schmiedl and Seifert 2008 ; Blickle and Bechinger 2012 ; Martínez et al. 2015 , see discussion in SM
