A local fermion update algorithm for SYM quantum mechanics

We present a local fermion update algorithm for N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills quantum mechanics which allows simulations in fixed canonical sectors.

• We discuss some aspects of the physics of this theory, including the appearance of flat directions in the bosonic potential and the metastabilities related to those.
• In particular, we show that the modulus of the bosonic fields diverges in some of the fermion sectors and for thermal boundary conditions.
