On the relation between the CP phases in the PMNS matrix, CP-violation with sterile neutrinos and leptogenesis

We discuss the connection between observable CP violation in the lepton sector, the properties of heavy neutrinos and the baryon asymmetry of the universe in the minimal seesaw model.

• A measurement of the Dirac phase $\delta$ would allow to make testable predictions for the couplings of the heavy neutrinos to individual Standard Model lepton flavours.
• If any heavy neutral leptons are experimentally discovered in the future, this provides a powerful test for the mechanism of neutrino mass generation and baryogenesis.
