We analyze the decays $K\to\pi\ell\nu$ and $P\to\ell\nu$ ($P=K,\pi$, $\ell=e,\,\mu$) using a low-energy Effective-Field-Theory approach to parametrize New Physics and study the complementarity with baryon $\beta$ decays.
