The B -> pi tau nu decay in the context of the 2HDM type II

In this manuscript the B -> pi tau nu decay is investigated in the context of the 2HDM type II extension of the SM.

• In particular, predictions for the ratio of semileptonic branching fractions from l = tau and l = electron, muon are produced and an exclusion based on the MSSM parameters tan beta and mH+ from a preliminary Belle measurement are reported.
• An alternative variable to the ratio of branching fractions that could offer increased sensitivity is discussed that could result in increased sensitivity to rule out contributions from additional scalar mediators.
