Note that we are not implying that (7) or (9) are the starting point of off-shell invariant arrays. Instead, they should be viewed as the remainder, on shell, of an invariant whose lowest-order parts are quadratic in the various fields

More realistic models of supergravity will involve spontaneous symmetry breaking and may correspondingly require versions with mass and cosmological terms.
