Understand

The multiperipheral ladder structure of the Pomeron leads to the quite natural conclusion that the elastic slope Bel is not simple linear function of the colliding particles energy logarithm.

The existing experimental data on the diffraction cone shrinkage points to such "complicated" dependence indeed.
The shrinkage diffraction cone speed up with the beam energy is directly connected with an extreme rise of total cross-section (Froissart limit).
