Understand

The MicroBooNE experiment is a 170 ton Liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber (LArTPC) that will begin running at Fermilab in 2013.

Its primary physics goal is to explore the low energy excess of events seen by the MiniBooNE experiment and it is the next step in the R&D to make LAr a viable option for future large neutrino detectors.
This talk presented an overview of the MicroBooNE experiment with an emphasis on the light collection system and recent technical advances.
