Investigations of Double Parton Scattering: Example of $pp \rightarrow b \bar{b} \rm{jet~jet} X$

Understand

Signature kinematic variables and characteristic concentrations in phase space of double parton scattering are discussed.

• These properties should allow the double parton contribution to $pp \rightarrow b \bar{b} \rm {jet jet} X$ at Large Hadron Collider energies to be distinguished from the usual single parton scattering contribution.
• A methodology is suggested to measure the size of the double-parton cross section.
