We show that two cohomological properties of semisimple Lie algebras also hold for Filippov (n-Lie) algebras, namely, that semisimple n-Lie algebras do not admit non-trivial central extensions and that they are rigid i.e., cannot be deformed in Gerstenhaber sense.
